Joan S. Ditzion is an original co-founder Our Bodies Ourselves and co-author of all 9 editions of Our Bodies, Ourselves, Ourselves and Our Children (1978) & Our Bodies Ourselves, Menopause (2006). She is a geriatric social worker and is a passionate advocate for aging women and families, combating ageism, sexism, fostering positive aging and transforming the aging paradigm.

Jane Fleishman, PhD, MEd, is a well-regarded sexuality educator, researcher, and writer living in the Valley. She focuses her work primarily on older adults and those in the LGBTQ communities. She loves humor and strives to keep herself laughing as she ages.
Liz Kapitulik, LICSW, C-ASWCM
A New England Native and a local hill town resident, Liz Kapitulik is a master’s level clinical social worker passionate about geriatrics. Since 2000 her practical experience has ranged from acute care to home care to long term care as an ER crisis clinician, medical social worker, and a nursing home administrator before opening her private practice in 2013. She uses her advanced training to assist clients and their caregivers in creating an atmosphere of dignity, community and comfort from admission to end of life with a special focus in Alzheimer’s and Dementia care.
Amy Basford-Pequet LICSW, CGP
Amy Basford-Pequet is a Clinical Sex Therapy Associate at Northampton Sex Therapy Associates. Amy is working extensively with aging populations. Amy currently runs a group for queer and questioning women who are over 50 as well as a group for men and sexual health.
Ashley Mader, Ph.D, LICSW
Dr. Mader is a psychotherapist, sex therapist, educator and consultant who specializes in older adults. She runs a private practice with a focus on older adult sexuality and aging transitions. Dr. Mader also has a blog called SHINE: Sexual Health In a New Era (www.ourshine.org) and co-hosts the podcast Our Better Half. She resides in Amherst, MA with partner and two cats.
